How do Instant Awnings cope so well in windy conditions?
The stability of our awnings in windy conditions is testament to the time and care taken in designing our Aluminium frame. As Aluminium is a lighter material than steel we can use more of it and our frames are still easy to transport. When trying to create strength in any structure it has to have a solid base, and you don't get much stronger than our 40mm x 40mm x 2mm box section legs. We know how well these big legs support the frame structure, and that’s why we back them up with a 2 year guarantee.
All Instant Awnings have spring loaded canopies…..
Every Instant Awning boasts a special spring loaded peak pole that supports the polyester canopy and gives the roof its shape. A spring loaded peak pole really increases stability in wet and windy conditions because the peak pole springs can absorb some of the winds energy whereas our competitor's rigid structures can't offer this level of defence against the elements.
A tie down kit is also provided as standard with all Instant Awnings. This consists of four stakes and four guy ropes. Connect each guy rope to each corner of your Awning, and the opposite end to the stakes, and hammer in to the ground ensuring the tie down ropes are well tensioned. We recommend using the tie down kit as instructed at all times, even in mild conditions, just in case the weather deteriorates quickly!
60kg Ground Plate Sets
We recommend a set of our 60kg ground weights whether you are operating on hard or soft surfaces. Each plate adds 15kg weight at each corner ensuring maximum stability. We have tested the ground plate sets along with a tie down kit in windy conditions and stability is very impressive. Ground weights are especially important if you are operating on hard surfaces where you can’t utilise the tie down kit, and our ground weights are designed so that they can stack on top of each other should you need more than one set.
